Detroit Ends Day One at Twilight

Day One Results

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The men's track and field team finished day one of the 2011 EMU Twilight on Friday afternoon. Action will continue Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

A trio of Titans competed in the 400-meter hurdles. Anthony Donald led the way with a seventh place finish. He crossed the line at 54.67. Taylor Hennrick and Aviram Campbell were also in action. Hennrick finished in 10th (55.42), while Campbell was right behind him in 11th (55.60).

Another set of Titans competed in the 1500-meter run. Matt Mahler cracked the top ten with a time of 4:01.40 (9th overall). Bob Radlich and Alex Harris rounded out the group for Detroit. Radlich placed 21st with a time of 4:05.32, while Harris ended up in 24th (4:06.59).

In the men's 5000-meter run it was Edwin Gay taking 16th place. Gay clocked in at 15:26.34. Martin Nelkie also ran in the 5000. He was close behind in 18th place (15:32.03).

Off the track freshman Eric Lewis competed in the shot put and the hammer throw. Lewis took 11th place in the shot (40-7.50), and 13th in the hammer (139-01).

Day two of the EMU Twilight will begin at 10:00 a.m.
