Several Michigan high school athletes set personal records and school marks at 2026 MHSAA state championship meets during the week of May 25.
Malachi Clayton (Detroit Catholic Central) won the Division I boys' long jump with a leap of 24-5, improving from his previous best of 22-4.75. The junior now ranks #1 in Michigan and #1 among all juniors in the state.
Daija Harper (Warren Michigan Collegiate) ran 15.19 in the girls' 100-meter hurdles at the Division 3 championships, lowering her previous mark of 16.05 from May. The freshman placed 5th and set a school record while moving to #34 in the state and #3 among freshmen.
Ava Johnson (Lakeview) clocked 14.86 in the 100-meter hurdles at Division 3, improving from 15.62. Her 4th-place finish broke the school record and moved her to #19 in Michigan.
Nathan Stawski (Traverse City Central) cleared 14-6 in the pole vault at Division I, bettering his previous height of 13-3. He placed 9th and now ranks #17 in the state.
Jabari Falls (Colon) threw 159-6 in the discus at Division 4, improving from 142-6 set in May. His runner-up finish established a school record and ranks #33 statewide.
Camryn Siegers (Holland Christian) cleared 5-7 in the high jump at Division 2, adding three inches to her previous best of 5-4 from May. She placed 2nd while setting a school record and moving to #5 in Michigan.
Lilly Diaz (Woodhaven-Brownstown) vaulted 11-9 at Division I, improving from 11-0. Her 9th-place finish broke the school record and ranks #12 in the state.
