DETROIT – Head coach Guy Murray has announced the 2011 freshman class for the women's track and field program. These student-athletes all have experience in the long sprint events.

“We were able to add a nice group that supplements our returnees,” Murray said. “This class will help us in the long sprints, and I believe that they are all capable of helping the team in a few different areas. I expect that spots on the 4x400 meter relay team will be highly contested this year.”

Track and Field – 2011 Freshman Class

Jasmine Greene – Pickerington, OH / Pickerington Central
- State qualifier in the 300-meter hurdles, the 4x200 and the 4x400 meter relays (2010 Ohio D1)
- Regional finalist in the 300-meter run (2011 Ohio D1)
- Fifth place in the 4x400 and eighth place in the 4x200 meter relay (2011 Ohio D1)

“Jasmine Greene will help immediately in the 400-meter hurdles,” Murray said.

Hana Hunt – Hastings, MI / Thornapple Kellogg
- State qualifier in the 400-meter dash, 4x100, and 4x400 meter relays (2011 Mich. D2)
- Fifth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay (2010 Mich. D2)

Malita Rutherford – Romulus, MI / Romulus
- Second place finish in the 4x400 and fifth overall in the 4x200 meter relay (2011 Mich. D2)
- Qualifier in the 400-meter dash (2011 Mich. D2)
- 4x400 State Champions in 2009 (Mich. D1)

Jacquelyne Zolynsky – Northville, MI / Farmington
- 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay state qualifier (2011 Mich. D1)
- 4x400 meter relay state qualifier in 2010 (Mich. D1)

Josephine Zolynsky – Northville, MI / Farmington
