Cross Country Opens Season at Oakland

DETROIT – The men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the Golden Grizzly Open this weekend. The action will begin at 6:00 p.m.

The senior class of Bob Radlich, Erik Westbrook, Matt Mahler, and Derek Hoerman will lead the men's team while Kristie Ferrans and Kirstin Mooney will guide the young women's team.

There was no team scoring at this event a year ago for either race. Radlich and Martin Nelkie paced the men's team finishing 11th and 12th respectively. Radlich crossed the finish line in 19:55 and Nelkie was right there with him at 19:56.

On the women's side, it was Mooney that ran as the top Titan. Mooney placed 20th overall with a time of 15:59. Katrina Oberski (23rd – 16:01), Rachel Hofsess (24th – 16:06), and Torrie Eger (25th – 16:12) finished as a group last year.
