Colin Creagh Earns Runner of the Week Accolades

Horizon League Release

INDIANAPOLIS – Freshman Colin Creagh has been named Horizon League Runner of the Week for his outstanding performance at the 25th Annual Running Fit Detroit Titan Invitational.

Creagh earned his first Runner of the Week accolade after placing second overall in a field of 71 runners. The freshman finished the four mile course in 21:17. This marks the second straight week that Creagh has posted a top-five finish after placing fifth last week at the Golden Grizzly Open (19:46).

The Titans battled through a slick, muddy course to finish second overall at the meet with 34 points. Wayne State took top honors with a score of 30.

The Titans have ran well early in the 2011 season as Edwin Gay received Runner of the Week honors after opening weekend with his personal best time in a 6k race (19:09).

Both the men's and the women's cross country teams will head to Notre Dame on Friday, Sept. 16 to compete in the National Catholic Championships.
