Danielle Pfeifer says Go Blue! Chooses Michigan

Danielle Pfeifer, a senior at McAuley High School in Cincinnati, Ohio has chosen to continue her education and running career at the University of Michigan Pfeifer secured two silver medals at the 2011 OHSAA State Track and Field Meet, one in the 800m run and one in the 4x800m relay.  During the indoor season, Danielle finished first in the 800m and lead her team to a runner-up finish in the 4x800m relay at the OATCCC State Indoor ChampionshipDanielle has been chosen as the Girls Greater Catholic League Athlete of the Year in Track for two consecutive seasons now, and will look to add a third to her resume this Spring.

 

Pfeifer has great range and is in the Top 10 returning athletes in Ohio in three different events for the outdoor season, the 400m run (8th, 56.74), the 800m run (1st, 2:10.15), and the 1600m run (5th, 4:59.37)Danielle set the University of Kentucky's Nutter Fieldhouse record by clocking a 2:08.84 on her way to a first place finish in the 800m at the UK High School Invite.  This time was the best by an Ohio athlete last year, and places her as the third best returner nationally in the indoor 800m runDanielle also owns a personal best of 18:59 over a 5K Cross Country Course.

 

Danielle will look to contribute early in both the 800m run and the Distance Medley Relay while at the University of Michigan.
