Lani Bloom notched her third top 3 finish in as many outings this season at the recent Marauder Invitational in St. Johns.
Bloom posted a time of 18:54.60 to take a resounding win in the Small Schools race. Her result represents a Michigan No. 41, a Michigan No. 7 for freshmen and a new pr. Her latest performance usurped her previous best time of 19:23.76, which she achieved during her second place effort at the Birch Run Early Invitational on August 23rd.
The Ithaca athlete led her squad to the team win at the Marauder Invite; they scored 58 points and finished 20 points clear of the runner-up team from Fowler.
Following the race, Bloom indicated that "she wanted to attack the hills hard and finish stronger than she started." One of her goals for the season is to qualify for the State Championship meet.
