Hey Everybody!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ryan McClay and I'm taking over as the new state editor for Milesplit Georgia. I began my running career right here in Georgia at Dacula High School and then continued running in this state at Berry College. After a brief year in Texas, I came back and have been coaching at St. Pius X Catholic High School ever since. I have now been involved with cross country and track and field in this state for 20 years. And in that time I watched this site grow from the original gatfxc.com into what it is today as a part of the Milesplit network and Flosports. I've been actively involved in the site for many years as an occasional contributor and a site ranker.

So that's my history, but what I'm really excited to bring to the site is my passion. I absolutely love this sport. I watch as many high school, college, and professional XC and track and field meets as I possibly can. I love to analyze it, I love to talk about it, and I love to find ways to get better at it. If there's an exciting thing happening in the sport, I'm invested. And I hope to bring that energy to the site as well.

I think we have an awesome community of athletes, coaches, parents, timers, starters, officials, and fans here in Georgia. And I think it's one of the most enthusiastic states in the country when it comes to our two great sports. So I want to focus on highlighting what makes our sports special. I've seen so many amazing performances in the last 20 years and I want to bring those performances, and the athletes involved, to the forefront of the website while making sure everybody has a place to feel they belong.

I think Bruce Taylor, rest in peace, did an awesome job of showing love for the sport. And I want to continue with that tradition and show these sports the love they deserve. I'm really excited to get started and show my passion for this sport here at Georgia Milesplit. Just promise to be patient with me for at least this first month while I figure everything out!

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any story ideas, notice any issues on the site, or want to get involved. You can reach me at milesplitga@gmail.com.

I look forward to seeing everyone out at a meet near you very soon!

Thank you,
Ryan McClay
