Roland Hopkins has been providing Speed Ratings analysis for MileSplit Ohio throughout the course of the cross country season. Hopkins, the owner and operator of the popular site Illinois XC Speed Ratings, was brought on to their coverage team to add additional insight and depth of performances beyond times on the clock and placements in the standings.
For his final assignment of the season, Hopkins reviewed last weekend's Eastbay Cross Country Championships results. We're well aware of how it unfolded with Riley Hough (Hartland) crossing the line first, following a late charge, in 15:11.4. His winning run, though, was rated at 200.
On the ladies side, the top Michigan-based performer was Arianne Olson (Holland West Ottawa), who concluded her junior XC campaign by finishing 13th in 17:43.4, a showing that netted her a 153 rating.
