Kent City's Jill Evers Wins NFHS Coach of the Year

Kent City and the state of Michigan are lucky to have great coaches like Jill.  The National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches Association girls cross country coach of the is the right fit for veteran coach Jill Evers!  When asked about her COY award, Coach Evers replied;

"Coaching awards don't occur in a vacuum. There is a team involved. Yes, there are the athletic teams, but there's also a team of coaches, parents, and school staff that contribute to the program. I've been blessed to have worked with some great friends and a supportive school and community.  This award is for all of us.

 At Kent City, we have been blessed with outstanding families and athletes who have bought into our training regimes.  Their hard work has obviously resulted in the winning statistics that made me eligible for the award.  I need to thank Kent City for allowing me, as a kid out of college, who had never run cross country to take over what I now say is my favorite sport. "

Look for Coach Evers and the Lady Eagles this spring as they head towards the Michigan high school state championship in June.
