Michigan Takes NY at Nike Nationals- DISTANCE Recap

The 2023 indoor season is winding down as athletes compete in end of the year championship meets.  The Fort Washington Armory in New York city is the host of the Nike Indoor Nationals which is one of three major end of the season championships.  The three story Armory was built in 1911 sits in the heart of Manhattan and has hosted the famous Milrose Games since 2012.  Over 1400 athletes from all over the country came to New York to compete against the best.  There are qualifying standards that need to be achieved to compete in the championship.  Events are broken down into different groupings.  The top seeds are placed in the CHAMPIONSHIP sections.  The next sections are called the EMERGING ELITE sections.  There are also sections for high school FRESHMAN only as well as MIDDLE SCHOOL sections. 


Distance superstar Hunter Jones finished up his high school indoor running career with two wins in New York.  He won the 5,000m and the two mile run at the Nike Indoor Nationals.
