Michigan Middle School: New Event Leaders and Lifetime Bests

Boys

At the KAMSL Championship, Cody Lam took the victory in the boys' 1600m. The 8th grader from Maple Street Magnet School for the Arts clocked a lifetime best of 4:28.84, improving his win streak to 6 in a row, and ranks #1 among Michigan middle school milers.

Your middle school high jump leader is Swartz Creek's Adrian Walker. The 8th grader cleared a personal best of 6-2 at the GFMSL: Swartz Creek @ Kearsley. Walker also won the 70m dash in 9.26 and the 100m dash in a PB of 12.16.

Mason Sopha of Yale secured the triple jump title at the Yale Junior High Relays. The 8th grader set a personal best of 28-4 and is the #1 ranked triple jumper among Michigan's middle schoolers.

In the 400m, 8th grader Cooper Pound of Portage West Middle School won the event at the KAMSL Championship. Pound set a personal best of 53.67 as he crossed the line first in the quarter mile. He later returned to the track, taking second in the half-mile in a 2:08.67.

Bo Glanzman of North Rockford improved his shot put win streak at the WMMSC NE Division Conference Meet. The 8th grader threw a PR of 46-8 to take the win and is currently ranked #5 in the state.

Girls

At the Lawton MS, Allegan MS at Delton K, the undefeated Arabelle Allersma added to her column of wins. The 6th grader from Delton Kellogg won the 1600m in 5:01.95 and the 3200m in 10:58.35. With these two personal best marks, Allersma improves to the #1 ranks in both events.

Riley Verwolf of Wyoming Tri-unity Christian won the High Jump at the WMCMSL Invite. The 8th grader cleared a personal best of 5-5 to secure the win and the #1 mark among middle schoolers in Michigan.

Holland Christian's Molly White set a new personal best in the pole vault. At the WMMSC SW Division Conference Meet, the 8th grader cleared 10-6 to claim the victory and the #1 spot in the state.

7th grader Charli Cherry improves her personal best at the WMMSC SW Division Conference Meet in both the 200m and 400m. From Holland West Ottawa, Cherry clocked a 27.94 200m and a 59.56 400m to officially break the 60-second barrier for the first time in her career. She currently ranks #4 in the quarter mile.

At the Big North Conference MS Finals, 8th grader Anna Hornacek took the win in the girls' shot put. From Traverse City West, Hornacek threw a PB of 40-7 and ranks 3rd for the throws in Michigan.
