Pentwater Falcon Varsity Cross Country Invitational 2020
When: Saturday October, 10th 2020
Time:
9:30-Coachs meeting
10:00am-Varsity Boys
10:45am (or once the boys have finished)-Varsity Girls
Awards as soon as they are ready
Where: Golden Sands Golf Course in Mears, Michigan 2501 N Wilson Rd, Mears, MI 49436
Cost: $125 for both boys and girls varsity. For small teams, please email me so we can discuss a discounted rate. Parking is FREE for all teams and fans.
Teams attending: TBA
Course Details: The course was just made last year as an offroad Jeep course. It is quite hilly including man-made berms and mostly compact sand. There is a lot of elevation and a large hill at the very beginning of the course (first quarter mile). The race will start and end on the golf course and includes 1.5 miles on the jeep course and 1.65 miles on the golf course. It is very wide and free from tree roots. Please see the pictures below. There will be a lead vehicle and a trail vehicle on the course. Country Dairy chocolate milk will be given out to all of the race finishers!
Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top 15 males and females. A trophy will be awarded to the top male and female teams.
Tents/buses: There is a large canopy tent available for teams. There is plenty of room, so it is not necessary for teams to bring their own tents. There will be space at the golf course for buses to park.
Lunch Option: In addition, teams can pre-order pizza and breadsticks for lunch which will be available at noon. This includes spectators and parents as well. The cost is $8 per person and includes a buffet style lunch. Wristbands will be given out in the team packets. Teams must pre-order by Tuesday, October 6th at 5:00pm to efatura@penwater.k12.mi.us. Checks can be made out to.Golden Sands. This payment needs to be seperate from the registration fee for the invite.
