Brandon Sanders brings home two national titles from USATF Junior Olympics

Palmetto Speed's Brandon Sanders arrived home from USATF Nationals with two titles. Sanders brought home the youth boys trophy in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events. Sanders ran 22.37 seconds in the 200 Saturday and on Sunday covered the 100 in 11.07 seconds.

Sanders was seeded second going into the 100 finals.

Quick Striders' Jasmin Stowers (Pendleton) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles young women finals in 13.58 seconds. Stowers finished fifth in the 400-metr hurdles, finishing with a time of one minute, 2.71 seconds.

Quick Striders' Briana Nelson finished runner-up in the intermediate girls 400-meter dash. Nelson finished in 53.71 seconds, behind Brianna Frazier's (Dominion Track Club) 53.58 finish.

"This really is exciting this year (for me)," said USATF S.C. retiring Youth Chair Valerie Beesley. "(This is) the most regional champion plaques that I have had to order in my eight years as youth xhair and a record year for the national plaques as well."
