The Carmel girls won the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational with just 36 points in September in Louisville, Kentucky at the Tom Sawyer State Park.
Carmel squads could move up national rankings with enough damage at Indiana state meet
Indiana State Championships coverage
In 2015, the Carmel boys and girls swept the Indiana state titles. Can they do the same in 2016?
The Carmel girls enter state meet weekend ranked No. 6 in the nation per the most recent Saucony Flo50 update on Oct. 16. But a dominant sweep of the Semi-State meet 2 in Shelbysville indicated that the girls might be deserving of a top two national ranking. Every top five runner set a new PR for 5K and the result was a speed rating of 130, which is a score typically needed to win NXN. More on speed ratings and Carmel's incredible performance here.
