Motor City Sweeps 800m Final & Shifts Focus to 4x800m Record

After sweeping the 17-18 1500m final, Cameron Cooper and De'Karyea Freeman continue to dominate the AAU Junior Olympics. They crushed the rest of the field by three seconds to assert their dominance on the 17-18 middle distance age group.

Don't expect the Motor City duo to stop there. After the race, Cooper made it clear that they are targeting bigger goals. The AAU Junior Olympics national record for the 4x800m is 7:39.04. That time set by the St. Louis Express TC back in 2013. For reference, Oak Park's season best set at New Balance Nationals is 7:43.59.
