Carter Solomon Talks Sub 15 Effort At Huron Region Meet

(Carter Solomon shown winning the Gold Division race at the A2 Coaching Legends Classic)

Carter Solomon joined elite company with his sub 15 minute 5K performance at this past weekend's Huron Region meet.  He is now one of just twenty-seven athletes nation-wide to have eclipsed this number.

The junior from Plymouth went 14:59.40 for a resounding win in the Division 1 contest at Willow Metropark.  His result represents a Michigan No. 2 (overall), a US No. 7 for 2020 grads and a new pr.

Solomon trails only Otsego's Alex Comerford in the state's rankings - Comerford ran 14:59.00 at September's Bulldog Invitational.

In addition to his individual triumph, Solomon led his squad to a first place showing in the team standings.  Plymouth put up 29 points.

MileSplit contacted Carter to gain more insight on his outstanding performance.

My training has been going really well all season long.  Our coach likes to keep a consistent plan throughout the year and I feel like that helps a lot.  Leading up to the race, I talked to my coaches and parents about my strategy.  They told me to go out and run for as high a place as possible and hopefully the time will follow.  Me and my teammate, Patrick Byrnes, were together through the first mile and he helped to push me through that first part of the race.
