LAB Youth National Indoor Invite Recap


The LAB TC hosted the LAB Youth National Indoor Invite last weekend which saw 482 athletes from 32 teams from all over the Michigan and from Ohio to compete for two days on one of the fastest 300m tracks around.  Runners from age eight up to high school were at the meet.  Medals were awarded to the top 6 places in each individual event and to the top 3 places in each relay event.  

The performance of the day was the junior from Farmington Hills Mercy, Milena Chevallier who jump 5'8" in high jump for the win.  That mark ranks her #1 in Michigan and tied for #8 in USA so far this season.

  Ke'Vina Finch was a double winner posting the fastest times in the 55m(7.35) and the 200m(24.87). Also a double winner was Liliane Aittama of the Michigan Racers Track Club winning the 800m (2:16.75) and was the fastest in the 400m(58.61) as well.   Hurdler Morgan Roundtree won the 300m hurdles with a great early season time of 43.44 and was second in the 55m hurdles at 8.23.  Oak Park senior and Sothern California commit Nonah Waldron won the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.19.  The quartet from the Courageous Track club won the 4x200m with an impressive 1:44.69 which is the 3rd fastest relay so far this year. 


On the boys side, the relay from the 16 Ways Track Club posted the fastest time in the state Saturday running the 4x200m in 1:29.12.  Rochester Adams senior, Damarcus Rouse ran the 2nd fastest 400m (48.76) time in the state and won.  Keiton Fase of Rockford high school ran the two fastest times in the  55m( 6.47) and the 200m(22.67).  Michael Davis-Hawkins , the senior from Cass Tech, won the 55m hurdles Saturday with a time of 7.78.  Logan Ruffner from Drive Phase won the 1500m with a time of 4:19.73.
