Gazelle Sports Elite Series: Elite Mile at GVSU MITS #3


Gazelle Sports and New Balance will be hosting the best milers in the state Saturday January 7th, 2023, at Grand Valley State's MITS #3 meet in Allendale, Michigan. This marks the eleventh year that GVSU and Gazelle Sports have partnered together to host he ELITE Series. Thirty two runners will toe the line in full New Balance uniforms and custom bib numbers to see who the fastest miler of 2023 is so far. Both the boys and girls ELITE Mile races will be one mile (1,609.344m) and the OPEN event will be run as 1600m.

Last year's champion, Riley Hough (4:08.33) has graduated and moved on the Michigan State where he was All-Big Ten this last cross country season. The girls champion last year, Rachel Forsyth (4:44.20) is still coming back from an injury during cross country season and will not be running.
