GVSU Holiday Open 2012

Notre Dame senior track and field standouts Maddie Buttinger and Kevin Schipper took part in the Grand Valley State Holiday Open on Friday and turned in strong efforts, with Buttinger placing in the top three in three events, while Schipper automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pole vault.

In the last action before winter break, the Grand Valley State women's track and field team had a strong showing at the GVSU Holiday Open, held on Friday (Dec. 16) in the Kelly Family Sports Center. Sophomore Kalena Franklin won the 60 meter hurdles event while senior Jocelyn Kuksa claimed a victory in the pole vault, both setting NCAA provisional marks in the process.

The Grand Valley State track and field team will be participating in their final meet before the holiday season today (Friday, Dec. 16) at 3 p.m. when they host the GVSU Holiday Open inside the Kelly Family Sports Center.
