GVSU Holiday Open 2010

Grand Valley State University saw strong individual performances in the GVSU Holiday Open on Friday, Dec. 18 at the Laker Turf Building. Sophomore Serena Black took home two first place finishes, while senior Candice Wheat took home one of her own. GVSU will compete in the new year on Jan. 7 at the Laker Early Bird.

Sophomore Susan Kalkstein (New Kensington, PA/Burrell) had three top five efforts, including winning the triple jump, as the UDM women’s track and field team competed at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open on Friday evening.

The Detroit Titans men’s track and field team had one last tune-up before the Christmas break as the Titans set four new career marks at the Laker Turf Building at the Grand Valley State Holiday Open on Friday.

Grand Valley State's track teams run its first home meet of its season on Thursday (Dec. 17), hosting the GVSU Holiday Open. Teams competing in the meet are Alma, Aquinas, Detroit Mercy, Ferris State, Indiana Tech., Lewis, Northwood, Saginaw Valley State and St. Joseph's (Ind.).

The UDM men’s and women’s track and field team will have one last meet before the Christmas break as the Titans head West to Allendale for the Grand Valley State Holiday Open on Friday.
