EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana junior Dustin Emerick was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season following his performance at the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan this past weekend.

Track teams compete in three meets over the weekend Feb 15, 2011

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University men's and women's track teams competed at three different meets this weekend. Bellarmine had 13 athletes compete at the Grand Valley State “Big Meet”. It was one of the largest indoor meets in the country. They had 38 universities participating with over 2000 athletes. Michigan and Michigan State were just two of numerous D-I schools at the meet.

Bishop Named adidas Athlete of the Week Feb 14, 2011

Ben Bishop, a senior thrower from Cantrall, has been named the adidas Athlete of the Week. Bishop broke his own SIUE record in the indoor weight throw over the weekend at the Grand Valley State Big Meet. His throw of 72 feet, 1 inch, came in his final attempt and beat his previous best by nearly two feet. Bishop ranks second in Division I in the event and will compete at the U.S. Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., Feb. 26-27.
