Sam Crouser & Maddie Meyers were named as First Team All Americans by American Track & Field Magazine for 2010. They were but a few of the Northwest athlets honored.
A number of Washington & Oregon prep athletes were honored by American Track & Field Magazine as All Americans.
Junior runners Maddie Meyers and Korey Krotzer fared well at the Arnie Young Invitational last weekend.
Cullen Wannarka of West Linn won the 1500 and Kellie Foleyof Crook County not only won their events but also announced their college decisions. Wannarka will attend Iowa State & Foley will run for Lipscomb University next fall.
Defending State Pole Vault Champion Zach Cramblit of Thurston soared 14-60 to win the Invitational. Andy Bennison of Central Catholic easily annexed the boy's 3K (8:51.69) and announced his intentions to attend Syracuse University. Emily Weber of South Salem claimed the girls' 3000, while Claire Devau of Lincoln won the 1500. Claire DeVoe won the 1500 for the girls and JAvan Gray of Thurston claimed victories in the Shot, Discus & Javelin.
Malika Waschmann & Brigid Behrens led Corvallis at the Holder Relays in Kent, Washington on Saturday.

The first day of action saw Shelby Ashe top her own meet record in the wight throw with a toss of 64-09.75, while Andrew Dunkelberger won the young men's event with 69-09.50. Brad Nye & Dallin Farnsworth went 1 - 2 in the boys' 1600M qualifier, while Alice Keller & Natalie Mathews had the best times among the girls. In the 3200 meters Kelse Braitwaite & Emily Nist led the waywith times of 11:28 & 11:35, while Dylan Morin & brayden Cromar top the field with 9:45 & 9:46 respectively.

Ashante Horsley & Paige Rice won their events against collegians yesterday at Linfield College on Saturday. The duo led a significant group of prep athletes, who did well against their elders.
Action on the track was only part of the day for the Brooks athletes, as an impressive awards banquet & ceremony were only a portion of the evening's merriment.
The races were great but the Brooks meet offered so much more!

The Brooks PR INvitational will have its first inception on Sunday. Here is a brief preview of the races.
The US Junior Women placed Second in the NACAC Cross Country Meet with the aid of key contributions from prep runners Julia Foster & Sarah Fakler.
The US Junior Women's team had prep runners Julia Foster & Sarah Fakler aid their collegiate counterparts, as they earned Silver in Trindad.
Ryan Crouser established a National REcord in the Shot Put for all classes of preps, while Hannah Cunliffe ran to a National Record for freshman girls in the 60 Meter dash to high-light action on the final day at Simplot.
Ryan Crouser established a new national mark in the shot put with a heave of 75-3.75 and then obliterated it three throws later with a montster toss of 77-2.75.
Hannah Cunliffe followed shortly with her own National Record, but for freshmen, when she ran 7.47 in the 60M.
Hannah Cunliffe led the 60 Meters girls' qualifiers with her 7.62 but a host of runners were not far behind. Jenna Westaway (2:15) led Hannah McInturff (2:19) & all 800M qualifiers, while Tyler Smith ran 1:55 to easily top the boys' 800M qualifiers. Yonny Castillo of Hood River ran 2:08 to place 37th overall in a very large field.
Although there were no finals on Friday there was plenty to watch at Simplot. Freshman Hannah Cunliffe led the 60M with 7.62, yet barely led the posse. The 800M saw Taylor Smith run 1:55, while Jenna Westaway ran 2:15.
