           Exciting track and field action took place at the MHSAA Region At Canton-Plymouth Meet.

Elite Performances 

Alona Olshevska won the 100m and 200m events with her times of 12.15 and 25.10.  The Westland John Glenn senior recorded a Michigan No. 2 time of 24.57 in her 200m prelims race.  

In the distance events, Livonia Churchill's Gabrielle Swider secured the 800m and 1600m victories due to her times of 2:16.48 and 5:05.93, respectively.  Salem's Reagan Justice finished first in the 3200m by virtue of her 11:26.77 result.  

Salem's Haven Essien collected a pair of event wins.  The senior placed first in the 100m hurdles (14.53) and 300m hurdles (46.57).  Her 100mH effort is a Michigan No. 5 for the 2018 outdoor season. 

Victoria Faber of Canton claimed the pole vault win due to her vault of 11-9 and Plymouth's Paige Sanders won the long jump competition by jumping 18-4.5.  

Rothus Stewart jumped 6-7 to take the high jump win.  This is a Michigan tie for No. 5 result for the Westland John Glenn senior.  

Salem's Alex Howie won the shot put competition due to his Michigan No. 16 throw of 52-6.5 and teammate, Sharriff Dyer placed first in the 300m hurdles race with his time of 38.61.  This is the fourth best time posted in Michigan this season. 

Wyandotte Roosevelt's Naythan Haslam secured the 200m win with his 22.09 result and Jared Terrance of Westland John Glenn ran a time of 49.21 (MI No. 8) to capture first place in the 400m event.  Salem won the 4x200m relay due to their Michigan tie for No. 7 time of 1:29.45.
